JV Ramana Murthy passes away

Veteran film actor J.V. Ramana Murthy passed away yesterday on 22nd June. He was 83 and breathed his last at a corporate hospital, while undergoing treatment for health related ailment. He was the brother of ‘Shankarabharanam’ fame JV Somayajulu.


He was born on 20th May, 1933 in Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh. He started to participate in drama from his childhood and acted in various plays like NGO, Keerthi Seshulu, Kappalu, Evaru Donga etc.

He has acted in more than 150 movies in his filmy career and made his screen presence in various movies like Batasaari, Maro Charitra, Sirivennela, Ananda Bhairavi, Kartavyam, Gorintaku, Aakali Rajyam, Saptapadi, Shubalekha, Shankardada Zindabad etc. Generally he appeared in the role of father or temple priest in his movies.
